Our Engagement Party

When we got engaged we decided to announce it by having a Garden Party. This all had to be organised within a 3 week timescale. Matthew from EasyEvents helped us to achieve this.

We first had a brain storm session with Matthew which we worked out exactly what we wanted the day to be like. This was a great help as we then all could decide who was doing which part of the planning. We did our own invites and Matthew organised Marquees, chairs, tables, cutlery, glasses hire, waitress staff, caterers, photographer etc. He came back to us with a range of price options for each of these. We then chose the appropriate companies we wanted to work with and Matthew arranged the contracts with each company.

On the run up to the event Matthew kept us right by organising us to collect items and pay for them. He gave us clear instructions on when and how to do this.
He ensured the marquees and lighting were up correctly and coordinated this all to happen. He gave us ideas for added decorations that gave everything that 'finishing touches' look. He had a very practical 'hands on approach' and it felt reassuring to have him in charge.

He laid out the table & chairs etc and ensured everything was in its place for the start of the party.
Throughout the planning, running up to and the organisation on the day to the big clear up afterwards Matthew and Easy Events were and asset to have on board. It made our day so very enjoyable and because of his flexibility regarding costs it helped us keep within our budget. I'm sure he arranged for the sun to shine also!!

In Jan 2008 we started planning our wedding to take place on 27th December 2008. We live in London but decided to get married in Edinburgh because we loved Scotland so much, but realised then we might have quite a large task on our hands because of the geographies between cities. One of the first weekends we visited Scotland we luckily visited the weekend of the Scottish Wedding Show and so we popped into see if we could find local suppliers/ and really just general ideas. I was quite set on planning my whole wedding from start to finish as I like organising everything! So didn't expect to need to use a wedding organiser at all. We met Matthew from Easyevents at the Fayre and he convinced us that it is not always the case that wedding planners are expensive and excessive, we knew then that Matthew was happy to organise part of the wedding with no pressure which suited us. As we aren't from the area, we decided there is only so much internet searching you can do and your not guaranteed reputable suppliers. We used Easyevents to source our Florist, Photographer, Video guy & DJ and I must say I could not have chosen better suppliers myself, even after hours of endless trawling on the internet. Our flowers were magnificent, with such unusual flair, the Photographer was amazing as he was not intrusive on our day yet managed to get the most natural and excellent shots. Our Video was amazing and the DJ was excellent fun and really flexible on songs we really wanted played on the night.

We found amazing value for money and superb service from Easyevents and I would recommend them to any Bride who needs to have piece of mind that someone else can help with your important plans and always deliver to your high standards!

"I found `EASYEVENTS`' on the internet. As I was trying to organise a family party to celebrate a local gala day event, I knew I needed someone with some local knowledge. I was a bit apprehensive at first because I had never employed a party planner before but as soon as Matthew sat down in my living room and we started talking I knew that the risk hadpaid off.

Matthew was not just helpful, he pushed me to think of things that I had not considered. He was also quite intuitive. And on the day, once he arranged probably the most beautiful day of 2008, he gently, surreptiously took over the running of the day, allowing me to get ready, enjoy the day, spend time with my guests and feel so special. He, and his team, made things work like clockwork. I was so impressed.

I can also testify to his contacts. Caterer was good, his team were just like family and the photographer he recommended took photographs that have given so much joy months after the event."
